SlowJourney: Pen Pal Letters
Slow mail for real friendships
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
SlowJourney is a slow-mail pen pal app for people who want real friendship, not another feed.
Match with someone new through Discover, or keep writing to friends you already know. Every letter you send actually travels. Delivery time is calculated from how far apart you and your pen pal really are — a letter to someone nearby arrives in hours, one to the other side of the world takes days. The longer you keep writing to the same person, the deeper your friendship grows, and the faster your letters begin to arrive.
THE DELAY IS THE POINT
No typing indicators. No online status. No read receipts. No pressure to reply within seconds. Letters take time on purpose, so conversations stay thoughtful instead of turning into another chat app.
WHILE YOU WAIT
- Keep a running list of Dreams — the goals and hopes you're chasing — and share the ones you want your pen pal to see.
- Build a custom avatar, piece by piece.
- Pick up new words from a pen pal writing in another language, highlighted right inside the letter you're reading.
- Watch each friendship grow into a timeline of letters, milestones, and shared challenges.
BUILT FOR LANGUAGE EXCHANGE
Set your native and learning languages during setup and get matched with people you can actually practice with. Vocabulary you come across in letters is saved to your own notebook so it is there when you want to review it.
WORKS OFFLINE
Write, read, and organize your letters and dreams anytime, with no connection. Everything syncs quietly in the background the next time you are online.
NO NOISE
No feeds. No likes. No ads. No follower counts. Just letters worth waiting for.
FREE, WITH OPTIONAL PRO
SlowJourney is free to use. Pro unlocks unlimited letters, unlimited pen pals, the full avatar builder, drafts and archive, and data export.
Grow together, one letter at a time.
