Forma Drive manages your drives, your Mac's disk and your cloud storage together: read and write across disk formats, back up the folders that matter, analyze what is using space, and clean up duplicate files and empty folders.
NTFS or ext4, file systems from any platform read and write easily. S3, WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, Backblaze B2, Dropbox and other cloud storage work directly as local disks, extending the space you can reach.

Disk tools
NTFS, ext4, Btrfs, XFS, FAT32 and exFAT, the disk formats common to different operating systems, can all be read and written through our tools. Drives encrypted with BitLocker or LUKS can be unlocked with their password.
The Cable view follows the connection from your Mac's port through the cable and enclosure to the drive inside, compares the current speed with what the drive can reach, and marks the part that holds it back: a port, a hub or the cable.
Beyond scanning disk files quickly, Forma Drive analyzes how much a disk reads and writes and monitors disk health and throughput in real time. When an app writes heavily in the background you are warned right away, which extends the life of your disk.
Cloud storage and network locations
S3-compatible storage, WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, Backblaze B2, Dropbox and other common cloud services become local disks in one step, read and written as ordinary folders.
SMB, AFP and NFS file servers on the local network are supported as well. Across your Mac's disk, external drives and cloud storage, space usage and large duplicate files are analyzed concurrently, so even with huge amounts of storage you find where the waste is.
Native analysis and caching code: concurrent analysis that is fast and steady, memory-safe and light on the system, so analyzing a disk does not get in your way.
Backup & Recovery
Choose folders and back them up to a folder on your Mac, an external drive, a NAS or cloud storage. One plan can combine them: a full copy on an external drive and another on your NAS, or files spread across several cloud services with two copies of each file.
Back up every night while your Mac is idle, when an external drive is connected, or every hour to your Mac, external drives and NAS. Old versions are kept: one per day for 30 days, then one per week for 12 weeks.
Copies are verified. Local copies are read back after writing, cloud copies are checked against the service's checksums, and missing or changed files are copied again from the originals. If the connection drops, the backup pauses and later copies only the unfinished files.
Data cleanup
Local analysis recognizes leftovers from the apps you use and system caches, sorts them by category, and offers category cleanup and suggestions.
Choose your own large-file threshold: 50 MB, 100 MB or 500 MB, you decide. Files on different cloud drives and local storage are hashed asynchronously, which solves the problem of the same file being stored again and again across cloud drives.
Add an ignore list and those folders are skipped automatically.
Clean up in one step and see exactly how much space you freed. Cleanup moves files to the Trash so you can restore them; files are deleted permanently only when you choose to.
