See a written rhythm on a real music staff, listen to a two-bar count-in, then tap it out or sing/scat it back. BeatDrill listens through your microphone (or your taps) and scores how closely your timing matched the notation. No pitch, no instrument required — just rhythm.
WHAT YOU'LL PRACTICE
90 original exercises across 10 rhythm topics, from foundational note values to real independence challenges:
• Whole, half, and quarter notes
• Eighth-note and quarter-note combinations
• 6/8 compound meter
• Triplets and half-note triplets
• Dotted-eighth + sixteenth patterns
• Syncopated rests in sixteenths
• Swing eighths
• Ties across the beat
• 4/4 ↔ Cut Time
• Changing meters (5/4 ↔ 5/8)
Three levels — Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced — each with 30 exercises across every topic, so you build the same skill at increasing difficulty rather than jumping between disconnected drills.
HOW IT WORKS
• Tap the rhythm on screen, or sing/scat it — your choice, every time
• A 2-bar metronome count-in gets you locked to tempo before you start
• BeatDrill scores whether you played the same pattern as written, not just raw timing precision — so a musical, in-the-pocket take scores well even with natural human timing
• Score 70+ to unlock the next exercise; a private on-device AI coach (powered by Apple Intelligence, when available) gives you a specific note about what to work on next
• Play back "Hear it" (the written rhythm), "Your take," or both together to hear exactly where you drifted

Every take is saved with its score and full timing breakdown. See your average score, revisit any past take's detail view, and watch exercises unlock as you clear the 70% bar — no guessing whether you're actually improving.
