Umbra is a migraine diary built around one question: does this still work when your head hurts and the screen is too bright?
So the fastest way to log an attack doesn't involve the screen at all. Say "Hey Siri, log a migraine in Umbra", press the Action button, or tap the widget, and it's recorded. The app switches to crisis mode on its own: dimmed, high contrast, big type, big buttons. Nothing pops up and nothing asks you to upgrade while it's on. You add the details later, when you can.
The other half of Umbra is the report. Weeks of entries become a PDF a neurologist can read in two minutes: frequency, duration, intensity, medication, MIDAS score. It's generated on your phone and shared from the share sheet. It never goes through a server.
LOG IT FAST
• Start and end an attack from Siri, the Action button, a home or lock screen widget, or Control Center
• Live Activity in the Dynamic Island and on the lock screen, with one job: end the attack
• Intensity on a 1 to 10 scale, the same one your doctor uses
• Symptoms, pain type and location, triggers, and a free notes field on every entry
• Aura, prodrome and postdrome as separate phases, each with its own time
• Symptom days without pain, for vestibular and chronic migraine
• Medication taken: name, dose and time, in two taps
CRISIS MODE
• Turns on by itself when an attack starts, or by hand from Settings
• Dimmed palette, high contrast, no bright white anywhere

YOUR HISTORY
• A calendar with every month you've logged, and a list you can filter
• Edit or delete any entry
• Insights: attacks per month, time of day, pain-free streaks, what each medication did
• MIDAS questionnaire and score, with an optional reminder so you don't forget it before an appointment
• Year view and patterns, free
• "Doses this week" and "days with medication this month", always visible, so overuse doesn't sneak up on you

Everything above is free and stays free. Pro is the part you take to your appointment.
• Doctor report as PDF: pick a date range and get charts, a medication summary and your MIDAS score, ready to hand over or AirDrop
• Medication windows: a minimum gap between doses and your own weekly or daily limit for each medication, with a heads-up before you cross it
Monthly, yearly, or a one-time purchase. The one-time purchase is exactly that: pay once, keep it.
PRIVACY, BY DESIGN
• No account. No email. Nothing to sign up for.
• Your entries live on your device and sync through your own iCloud. There is no Umbra server, so there is nothing for us to read.
• No analytics on your health data. No ads. No third-party SDK touches your entries.
• Export everything as CSV, or delete everything, from Settings, whenever you want.
Umbra records what you tell it. It doesn't diagnose, predict or recommend treatment. Talk to your doctor about anything you notice in your history.
