Recipes are written for one number of people, and you are rarely cooking for exactly that number. RecipeDial does the arithmetic and gives you amounts you can actually measure.
Photograph a recipe from a cookbook, a printout or a handwritten card, or share one in as text, a photo or a screenshot. Tell RecipeDial how many you are feeding, or how many cookies you want instead of the 24 the recipe makes, and every ingredient changes with it. Doubling 1/3 cup gives you 2/3 cup, not 0.666. Halving 3/4 cup gives you 6 tablespoons. When an amount comes out awkward, like one and a half eggs, it tells you and suggests what to do.
Bakers get an Exact mode that skips the kitchen rounding. Salt and leavening are kept precise either way, because that is where scaled bakes usually go wrong.
Once a recipe is the right size, add it to a shopping list that sorts itself by aisle, or open Cooking Mode: large type, a tick for each ingredient as it goes in, and a screen that stays on while your hands are covered in flour. You can share, email, copy or print the resized version for whoever is cooking with you.
RecipeDial works offline and has no account. Recipe photos are read on your device and stay on it.
RecipeDial Pro is a one-time purchase. It adds unlimited scans and saved recipes, multi-page scanning for recipes that run over a page, pan scaling for when you are baking in a different tin, and Plans, which combine several recipes into one shopping list.
