Whisp is a native macOS voice-to-text and dictation app for developers. Speak naturally and turn your words into text for code editors, IDEs, terminals, command-line tools, browsers, and chat apps.
Press Option–Space or click the floating microphone to start or stop. Whisp shows live speech-to-text as you speak, then copies your finished transcript to the clipboard. Paste it into the app you were working in with Command–V.

Whisp recognizes developer vocabulary, including programming terms, APIs, package names, commands, and technical phrases. Use voice typing to draft code prompts, commit messages, documentation, notes, emails, and everyday text.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Whisp uses Apple Speech for on-device transcription. Translation uses Apple’s on-device Translation framework. Your recordings are deleted after transcription, and your history stays on your Mac.
