The Snug! A second room to furnish: open the Snug from the Decor tab and fill it with a sofa, an armchair, a fire, a rug, a lamp, a bookcase, a side table and a picture, with four looks for each. The café cat moves to the sofa, the regulars have a favourite seat, and once it's open you'll see customers wander through to it. Postcards: send a picture of either room to a friend, or save it to Photos. Decor sets: four looks across both rooms (Cottage, Seaside, Art Deco, Botanical), with a plaque in the Café Book when you've completed one.

Back for a visit! Liked an earlier café? Go back to any you've run (the High Street, Seaside, Station, Market Square, Riverside, Old Town and the ones further afield) and play it again from Day 1, with its own menu item and twist. A visit keeps its own days, so you can pop back and carry on where you left off. Coins and customers count as usual, and your current café stays exactly as you left it. Find it in the Café Book under Choose a Branch.

Meet the regulars! Ten customers who call in on set days, at every café: Mrs Patel and her croissant, Old Tom and his strong tea, Priya, the Vicar, Nan Joyce, Little Sam, DJ Mo, Sergeant Bell, the Twins and Ms Okafor. Each has a favourite order and a story that unfolds a line at a time in the Café Book. Serve them five times and you'll know their order (they tip more for it); at twelve visits they bring a gift for the café that nobody can buy. Open All Hours: from Day 8, a shift with no clock. Customers keep coming, a little quicker as it goes on, and three walk-outs is closing time. Served is the score, your best is on the menu, and one Second wind a night clears the walk-outs.

The Specials Board! A special every week: from Monday to Sunday there's one limited item on the menu with a station of its own, from Soup Week to Scone Week, Pancake Week and Eccles cakes. Serve enough in the week for coins and a piece of decor nobody can buy. Twelve of them, one a week, all year. Further afield: once you've opened all five Branches, the chain goes on for good. Every café from here on pairs a Branch's item with a different twist, with another +10% coins each time. The Coin Tin: a free tin of coins on the menu every two hours, up to six a day, for a short ad (or just open it if you've removed ads). Finish the daily challenge and you can double its reward too. New in the shop: Coin Jars for the decor you've got your eye on, a Supporter's Bundle (no ads, 2,000 coins and the Bow-tie Cat), and a way to buy the developer a coffee if the café has brightened your day.

The Café Makeover! Make it yours: over fifty pieces of decor in a new Decor shop, from wallpaper, floors and counters to a view from the window, a radio, bunting and a café cat with a bed of its own. Seasonal sets for autumn, Hallowe'en, Christmas and spring. Café ranks: every customer you serve counts towards your rank, from New Starter to Legend and beyond, and each rank brings a piece of decor. Five upgrades now go up to level 5. Every Branch is its own place: after Day 30, choose where to open next. Ice cream and cheeky seagulls at the Seaside, commuter rush hours and takeaway cups at the Station, fruit tarts on Market Square, a terrace by the river with hot chocolate, and afternoon tea in the Old Town. Your decor, rank, Café Book and records come with you. A little challenge every day: one small goal on the menu each day, for coins and a stamp. Fill a card of seven for a bonus. Miss a day? No matter. And your café now follows you to a new phone: signed in to iCloud, your progress comes back after a reinstall or on a new iPhone or iPad. The iPad version now works in windows and any orientation, too.

Hallowe'en at the café! From 10 October: pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin pie and a queue in fancy dress. On twist days, trick-or-treaters pop in: one tap on the cookie jar each, or they'll play a (harmless) trick. On the 31st, a special Hallowe'en Night shift with fog, a full moon and a record for the most treats. Then Bonfire Night until 5 November, with toffee apples and fireworks in the window. Finish any shift during the festivities to unlock a pumpkin kettle app icon, yours to keep.

A stability fix: a rare crash when several sounds played at once, on a busy counter or a long streak, is gone. Nothing else has changed.

Something new most days: Rush Hour, Big Orders, Birthday Parties and Lazy Sundays. Customers sometimes ask for specials like Earl Grey or a very rare Golden Coffee, all collected in the new Café Book with your records. Reach Day 30 to open a second branch with a permanent coin bonus, and look out for mince pies in December. Plus a friendlier welcome and a better iPad layout.
