• Fixes a crash when a photo opened on iPhones with 4 GB of memory, such as iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13 and iPhone SE. • On those iPhones, very large camera photos now open at a reduced size: their posts are made as usual, and full-size files from them need an iPhone with more memory.

• Made for iPhone Duo: fold it halfway and the photo sits on one side of the fold, your looks and Develop on the other. Nothing lands in the fold. • HDR as you made it: posts, carousel slides and full-size files now show their highlights at the brightness Grain Studio rendered, in Photos, Instagram and everywhere HDR is shown. • HDR carousels share one HDR map across every slide, so a panorama split across slides no longer changes brightness at the seam. • In full-size files, very bright lights now roll off smoothly instead of dimming the whole picture on today's HDR screens (iOS 26 and later). • The first develop starts sooner: the grain for your look is prepared while the app opens, and a short note explains the one-time wait when a new look or photo size needs it. • Start with up to 6 photos and 1 clip, across as many develops as you like. • Redeem an offer code right on the purchase screen. • Siri and Shortcuts now understand Japanese, Portuguese and Korean.

Choosing photos from your library works again: the Next button no longer stays grey after you pick photos.

• Film edges: the lettering on 135 and 120 edges now always reads whole. On iPhone-shaped and square photos, a word could be cut off where the film met the edge of a post. • Adding a look from a card now says “Rendering the look…” while it draws the look on your photo.

• Grain on your posts and carousel slides now matches real 120 film at the size you post, so it still reads as film in the feed, whatever camera took the photo. • Lights in SDR photos now glow the way they do on film. Until now, their clipped highlights barely glowed. • Film edges, off until you pick one: 135, a strip with sprocket holes and frame numbers; 120, a medium-format frame from 6×4.5 to 6×17 that follows your photo's shape; or Clean, a thin black scan border. They go round posts, full-size files and clips, in our own lettering with no film brand, and HDR is kept. Adjust › Edges, or set a default in Settings. • Date stamp: an orange LED date in the corner, from the day each photo or clip was taken, in the order you choose. • Look cards: Adjust › Share as a card… makes a picture of your photo in the look with a QR code. Scan it with the camera, or pick it in Add look from a card, and the look is added. Its settings travel inside the code; nothing goes to a server.

• On Home, the Develop and Compose titles now sit level in every language. • While your photos are being read, Compose shows “Reading photos… 2 of 4” instead of empty slides. • Swiping to the next photo is quicker: a photo that was already being read ahead no longer starts over.

Seven film looks you can tell apart at a glance, and Compose for carousels. • Seven looks: Natural, Portrait, Pastel, Slide, Golden, Tungsten and Mono, each with its own colour over grain measured from real negatives. Mono is modelled on a classic 400-speed black-and-white film. A Colour slider, and a loupe to check the grain. • Compose: carousels get their own five-step flow, or tap Make a carousel right after a develop. • Video: film grain on your clips, new in every frame. HDR in, HDR out. • Much faster develops. • A quicker first preview. • Swipe to the next photo; hold for the original. • A new Home and clearer Settings, light or dark with your device; editing stays dark. • A Grain Studio folder in Photos, an album per kind of file. • On iPhone, a Live Activity follows your full-size files. • Share from the Photos app to Grain Studio. • Shortcuts and Siri actions to develop or make a carousel. • A Control Center control to start a develop. • Saved looks are unchanged; earlier looks became texture presets in Adjust.

• Carousels you design yourself: place photos anywhere on a slide, spread one picture across two or three slides, round the corners, add a border or a slight tilt, and write captions. Every slide keeps its grain and stays HDR. • Templates to start from — contact sheet, diptych, triptych, polaroid, magazine cover — or save your own. • Before & after carousel: each photo as it came in, then developed, on one tone map. • Share a look as a small file; whoever opens it gets it among their looks. • Grain size: a new slider in Customize, with the measured size as the floor. • Instagram versions of landscape photos are exactly 1080 px wide. • The app now speaks 17 languages.
