VideoHaven Player

Play anything, even from NAS

Only for Mac

$1.99

Mac

A video player for Mac that plays what the others won't — and streams straight off your NAS. PLAYS ANYTHING Built on libVLC, so MKV, AVI, WebM and HEVC just open. No converting, no hunting for codecs. YOUR NAS, WITHOUT COPYING Connect over SMB and play films straight from the server. Pin a folder and it waits for you at the top of Network. PICKS UP WHERE YOU STOPPED Continue watching remembers your position — for films on the Mac and on the NAS alike. SUBTITLES THAT BEHAVE Put a matching .srt or .ass file next to the video and it loads by itself. Nudge the timing by 0.25 s, set size and colour, and subtitles that aren't in UTF-8 still come out right. OUT OF THE WAY The controls hide so the film has the screen. Drag sideways to move through it, drag near an edge for volume, double-click for full screen. Picture in Picture and keep-window-on-top for watching while you work. A sleep timer for the nights the film wins. Built on libVLC and other open-source software; the full licences and a link to the sources are in the app. No ads, no account, no tracking. Open videos straight from Finder. • Open from Finder – right-click a video → Open With → VideoHaven, or drop it on the Dock icon. It plays straight away, without being added to the library. • Subtitles outside the library – a matching .srt or .ass file next to the video now loads by itself for videos opened from Finder or dropped onto the window, too. • Help at hand – a ? button in the library and new tips: playback speed, the sleep timer, what to do about a green picture and how to load subtitles with a different name. • Now plays .mts videos from camcorders (AVCHD). • Manage library subtitles – each video shows whether external subtitles are available. Use Subtitles to add, replace or remove them, and open the library folder directly in Finder. Accessible matching subtitles are copied when importing a video. • A refreshed Mac library with larger thumbnails, search in the header and easy access to sorting. • Removing a video from the library now asks for confirmation. • Italian, Japanese and Brazilian Portuguese — eight languages in total.
