MyNotePad

A notepad that just works

Only for Mac

Free

Mac

A clean, fast notepad for your Mac. Free, no account, no ads, nothing leaves your machine - with extra developer tools tucked away for when you need them. I built MyNotePad because I wanted somewhere to put things. Not a document. Not a file I have to name and save and find again later. Just a place to paste a phone number, draft a message, keep a list, or work something out - and have it still be there tomorrow. So that's what this is. Open it, type. Nothing asks you to save. Nothing is lost. Every tab comes back exactly as you left it. It turned out to be the app I use most, so I've made it free for anyone who wants it. SIMPLE BY DEFAULT • Tabs, so you can keep several things on the go • Nothing to set up, no account, no sync, no ads • Opens and saves ordinary text files wherever you like • Light and dark, following your Mac MORE IF YOU WANT IT If you write code, there's a second layer sitting quietly underneath. Press Cmd+K for 34 text transforms — format JSON, decode a JWT, encode Base64, convert timestamps, sort and dedupe lines, change case, generate hashes and UUIDs. There's proper auto-indent for 17 languages, bracket pairing, comment toggling, indent guides and visible whitespace. All optional. If you never touch any of it, the app stays a notepad. STAYS ON YOUR MAC MyNotePad makes no network requests at all. Not for updates, not for analytics, not for anything. Whatever you paste in — a password reset link, an API token, a client's details — never leaves your computer. That's the main reason the transforms exist: you shouldn't have to paste sensitive text into a random website to format it. No tracking. No accounts. No data collected.
