How it works ThreadLite uses CSS content-visibility:auto with contain-intrinsic-size on eligible off-screen conversation turns. This can help Safari defer work for content outside the viewport. The change is reversible and fail-open. What it does not do ThreadLite never hides or deletes messages. It never touches active, focused, selected, or streaming turns. Cmd+F, copy, and VoiceOver are designed to be preserved; these behaviors are not presented as independently verified guarantees. Simple setup Enable ThreadLite in Safari, then allow site access for chatgpt.com and gemini.google.com. The macOS app shows extension status, site-access setup, a behavior playground, and preferences.
