Uncatalogued is a single-player biology deduction game for curious players who like science fiction, careful observation, and puzzles with explainable answers.
Each mission places an unknown alien organism in your lab. Study visible structures, then choose how to test it with controlled light, temperature, or nutrients. Experiments change the specimen's energy, membrane activity, and stress, and the resulting observations go straight into your evidence notebook. The same test always produces the same reaction, so progress comes from reasoning, not luck.
Build a biological case from what you find. Select the three observations that best support your theory, then identify the specimen's habitat, metabolism, primary adaptation, and place on one of three evolutionary branches. A transparent score shows how much came from classification accuracy, supporting evidence, experiment efficiency, and branch placement.
There are ten main missions across Lumen Reef, Ash Cradle, and Cloud Forest, plus five optional specimens for players who want a tougher field survey. You might distinguish a light-harvesting organ from a glowing lure, trace mineral-based energy near a thermal vent, or decide whether two lifeforms are living in symbiosis. Every solution is grounded in authored, fictional biology rather than trivia.
Archive each discovery to unlock a detailed specimen record with its traits, tested reactions, biome, lineage, and best mission score. Revisit completed cases to test a sharper hypothesis and improve your result without losing earlier discoveries. As the archive grows, the tree of alien life fills with Radiants, Carapacids, and Veilborn.
Keep your own Field Journal alongside the alien investigations. Photograph light passing through a leaf, patterns in a stone, or an unexpected texture, or choose up to five photos from your library. Name the discovery, write what you noticed, and imagine a connection to one of the game's three lineages. You can also leave a finding unclassified or save an entry without photos.
Search your journal by name, observation, or lineage. Open a photo to zoom in and swipe through the set, then return to add a note or edit your record. Journal entries and photo copies are saved on your device and are not uploaded to the AI assistant. Resetting game progress keeps your personal journal.
The investigation loop and journal work offline. There is no account, advertising, or competitive pressure, and no timers or random rewards. Camera access is optional. Take your time with an unfamiliar specimen, or notice something unusual in the world around you and give it a page of its own.
The game's alien organisms, scientific names, ecosystems, and biological relationships are fictional. Field Journal lineages are creative labels you choose; the app does not identify real-world plants, fungi, or animals from photographs. Uncatalogued is designed for entertainment and informal science learning, not medical use or educational accreditation.
