FodWise: FODMAP Food Tracker

Low FODMAP Diet & Symptoms

$3.99 · In‑App Purchases

On a low-FODMAP diet the answer is usually 'how much?'. Slide the portion and watch the guidance change, then log meals and symptoms in a few taps. On a low-FODMAP diet, the answer to "can I eat this?" is usually "how much, and with what?" FodWise is built around that question instead of a list of good and bad foods. Log what you ate and how you felt in a few taps. Over time FodWise looks at what came before your harder days, one FODMAP group at a time. Early on it will tell you it does not have enough to go on yet, because that is the honest answer, and it never presents a pattern as the cause of a symptom. Move the portion slider on any food and the guidance moves with it, so you can see the amount where a group starts to be worth watching and the amount where it becomes notable. Build a meal and FodWise shows when several modest portions from the same group add up to more than any one of them, and which ingredient to cut back. When you are ready to reintroduce foods, plan a challenge one group at a time, log each day's portion and see the trend in your own entries. Days you skip are recorded as skipped, not quietly counted as good ones. Point the camera at an ingredient list and FodWise flags the terms that matter: inulin, chicory root, the polyols and the many names onion goes by. The text is read on your device. The one optional online feature, looking up a barcode, sends the barcode and nothing else, and you can switch it off. There are sixty swaps, each with the reason it works, and sixteen short articles that explain FODMAPs, portion size, stacking, the phases of the diet, label reading and eating out in plain language. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no server. Your diary stays on your device, and you can export or delete all of it at any time. FodWise is a diary and a reasoning tool. Its food figures are illustrative examples, labelled as sample data in the app, not laboratory measurements. It is educational only: it does not diagnose anything, cannot tell you that a food caused a symptom, and does not replace a doctor or registered dietitian, with whom a low-FODMAP diet is best done. FodWise is not affiliated with Monash University.

Fixes in this update: - A reminder you switch on or move now takes effect straight away. - With your iPhone turned sideways, the navigation labels are no longer cut off and pages keep clear of the camera on either side. - On an empty diary, the Add entry button no longer covers "Log how you feel". - The barcode and label scanners ask for the camera straight away, with the system prompt. - Sheets keep clear of the Home indicator. - If notifications are off, the reminders screen has an Open Settings button.
