DiskCode
Disk space map & safe cleanup
Only for Mac
Free
Mac
See where your disk space went, seven ways, then move what you don't need to the Trash, where every mistake is one Put Back away. No account, no ads, no tracking.
DiskCode shows you where your disk space went, and helps you get it back without losing anything.
Pick a folder or your whole Mac, and DiskCode shows the space seven ways:
• Overview: the whole drive accounted for. What was measured, what could not be reached and why, and what is free.
• Size Tree: every folder and file, biggest first, with bars and percentages. Size and On disk sit side by side, so online-only cloud files never mislead you.
• Largest Files: the 500 biggest files anywhere below, so a forgotten video is never buried.
• Treemap: the folder as proportional tiles, up to three levels deep. Click a tile to go in.
• Cleanup: caches, logs, old installers and developer build leftovers, each with the reason it is listed.
• Duplicates: byte-for-byte identical files, grouped, with one copy of every set always kept.
• Search: find any file by name, biggest first. Every name from the scan is saved on your Mac, so searches answer in a fraction of a second, even after you quit and reopen.
Act on what you find:
You can select items in Size Tree, Largest Files and the Treemap and move them to the Trash, copy them, or move them to another folder or drive. Every list can be sorted by clicking a column heading, and there's a Rescan button.
IT CANNOT ERASE YOUR FILES
• DiskCode never deletes anything. What you select goes to the Trash, one Put Back away.
• Nothing is ever selected for you, and Move to Trash always asks first.
• Duplicates are confirmed by a full content hash, and one copy in every set is locked.
• Files macOS protects, such as system components and simulator runtimes, are never offered.
• Copy and Move never overwrite a file, and a move removes the original only after the copy has finished.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no ads, no analytics. DiskCode makes no network connections: it reads your disk and draws it on your screen. Your settings and the search index stay on your Mac.
SCANNING YOUR WHOLE MAC
The first time you open DiskCode, a short setup asks you to choose Macintosh HD and, for protected folders such as Mail and Safari data, to turn on Full Disk Access in System Settings. DiskCode remembers your choice, so it only asks once.
Dark and Light themes. Export any list to CSV.

New in DiskCode 1.6.3
RECENT ACTIVITY
See what changed on your disk in the last day, the last week, or any range of dates you choose. Find the downloads, caches and exports that quietly filled your drive since you last looked.
GROWTH
Find out which files and folders actually grew between two scans, not just which ones were touched. Each complete scan now keeps a short record of sizes (only items of 10 MB or more), so DiskCode can show how much was gained and how much was freed, and where. A new "Gained" column shows how much of a recently written file is really new. The history stays on your Mac, like everything else DiskCode keeps.
QUICK LOOK
Select a file in Size Tree, Largest Files, Search or Recent and press Space to preview it, just as in Finder. The arrow keys move through the list while the preview follows. You can also right-click any file and choose Quick Look.
Plus smaller fixes and improvements.
