Midashi checks whether the text you put on a photo is actually readable: it measures the contrast between your text and the colors underneath (4.5 to 1 standard) and suggests colors that pass.
It overlays a safe zone guide showing where the app you post to tends to cover your image with duration badges, buttons or grid cropping, for five canvas sizes.
It brings real vertical Japanese text with outlines and bands, applied in one tap from headline templates.
Midashi is a small app for putting headlines on photos and thumbnails. Open it, pick a photo, type, drag the text into place and save. Nothing is uploaded; everything runs on your device.
What you can do
- Start from a photo or a blank canvas
- Five sizes: video thumbnail 16:9, square 1:1, portrait 4:5, story 9:16, wide 16:9
- Horizontal or vertical text, three weights, text color, outline (stroke), double outline, shadow, and a translucent band behind the text
- Multiple text blocks, moved by dragging
- Readability check: the average color under the text is combined with text color, outline and band; 4.5 to 1 or higher shows as readable
- Color suggestions: white or black, and whether an outline or a band is needed, applied in one tap (Premium)
- Safe zone guide: red frames mark where time badges, buttons or grid cropping tend to hide your text (video thumbnail size is free; all five sizes with Premium)

The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and payment is charged to your Apple ID. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the free trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription. You can cancel any time in your App Store subscription settings.

Text is rendered with the system fonts already on your iPhone. No font files are added or downloaded.
