Read on screen or listen with bundled offline voices and Apple system voices. Keep your place with reading progress, bookmarks, highlights, and search. BILINGUAL READING Listen to original text and translations in your chosen sequence. Select a preset or custom language pair, adjust repetitions and individual speaking speeds, and follow the current sentence. Online translation requires your consent and an internet connection, and sends the text being translated to Google. When online translation is unavailable, the app can fall back to Apple translation on supported devices and systems with the required language packs installed. Prepare supported language packs in Translation Settings before offline use. Available languages vary by device and system. OFFLINE VOICES INCLUDED Kokoro voices for English, Spanish, French, Hindi, Italian and Portuguese run on your device, with no additional model download. Chinese and Japanese use iOS system voices. Offline speech does not send your text to a speech server; optional online translation is separate. First-time speech preparation can take a moment. VOICES THAT FIT YOUR PACE Choose separate voices for ordinary reading, original text, and translation. Adjust speed and pitch independently, preview voices, and customize the speaking order. Use the sleep timer for listening sessions. MAKE READING COMFORTABLE Read with a black background and white text, blue highlighting for the spoken text, and bilingual subtitles. Adjust text size, organize your books and continue from your saved reading position. ONE-TIME PURCHASE No ReadJoy account, advertisements, subscriptions or in-app purchases. Two starter books are included; you can also bring your own documents. Support depends on document format and layout. DRM-protected and image-only documents may not provide readable text. PRIVACY Your library and reading preferences are stored on your device. Optional online translation shares text with Google.
