Latch: Lid Actions, Animations

Animate and automate your lid

Only for Mac

Free · In‑App Purchases

Mac

Close your MacBook halfway and the animation stops halfway with it. Every animation is free. Pro adds unlimited lid actions, Shortcuts and conditions. Latch reads your lid's hinge angle and puts it to work. ANIMATIONS THAT FOLLOW YOUR HAND Open or close the lid and the screen animates with it, degree by degree. Stop halfway and the animation stops with you. Choose from Fade, Iris, Shutter, CRT, Frost, Genie, Drain and Duo. Every animation is free, with no watermark. ACTIONS AT ANY ANGLE Mute as the lid starts to close. Lower the volume, dim the screen, or run any Shortcut at the angle you pick. Each action can put things back when the lid opens again, so one rule does the job of two. CONDITIONS Run an action only when you're docked or not, on power or battery, or between two times of day. LID JOURNAL A private record of when you opened and closed your Mac each day: when you started, how often you came back, and how long the lid was shut. SHORTCUTS Latch adds actions to Shortcuts: Get Lid Angle, Is The Lid Open, Get Times Opened Today, Get Time Open Today, Set Latch Actions and Play Lid Animation. PRIVATE BY DESIGN Latch has no network code. Nothing you do leaves your Mac. LATCH PRO, ONE-TIME PURCHASE The free version runs one action forever. Pro unlocks unlimited actions, Run a Shortcut, and conditions. No subscription. REQUIREMENTS Hinge tracking and actions need a MacBook with a lid angle sensor. The Journal works on any MacBook. CRT, Genie, Drain and Duo look best with Screen Recording permission, which is optional; without it they use a built-in fallback.
