◆ STORY
It is the middle of a record-breaking summer heat wave.
On TV, the news reports the disappearance of a young girl, followed by a weather forecast warning of temperatures reaching 40°C.
“It’s so hot… I wish I could go somewhere cool.”
Just then, a mysterious flyer drifts down in front of you.
It advertises a place called—
“Ryo,” a retreat from the summer heat.
Drawn by the promise of a cool escape, you decide to visit the theme park hidden deep in the mountains.
You drive along a mountain road and pass through an unfamiliar tunnel.
On the other side, you find yourself in a town that seems to have come straight out of the Edo period.
Wind chimes, folding fans, goldfish, morning glories, barley tea, traditional sweets…
The town is filled with the refreshing sights and sounds of a Japanese summer.
But something about this place feels strange…
