Brainy Break pauses the apps you choose for a few learning activities, then unlocks more time for your child.
You set the limits. They get little chances to practice. From matching colors to math and spelling, each break fits into your family's screen-time routine.
Choose what works for your child
- Start with colors and shapes: tap and drag, with no reading needed.
- Explore counting, addition, spelling, and multiplication as they grow.
- Choose Easier, Default, or Harder for each child.
- Turn off problem types that aren't right for them.
Over 1,600 activities in the U.S. collection, informed by U.S. early learning and elementary school standards, with American English spelling.
Keep the choices in your hands
Pick which apps pause, how often breaks happen, and how many activities to complete. Set days and times to fit your routine. A grown-up PIN protects settings and lets you skip a break when you need to. Each child has their own profile.
A little practice, without the pressure
No scores, leaderboards, or racing against the clock. A wrong answer is simply a chance to try again.
Try it with your family
The first ten completed breaks are free. After that, your profiles and settings stay in place; one in-app purchase lets you turn on new breaks. No subscription and no extra charge for another child. The unlock lasts for as long as Brainy Break is available.
Private by design
No account, no ads, and no tracking. Profiles and settings stay on your device or in your own iCloud. Learning breaks work offline.
Built in London by two parents and an uncle, for the children in our own family.
Compatibility
Set up Brainy Break on the iPhone or iPad your child uses. Requires iOS or iPadOS 17.4 or later. On 26.5 or later, the pause-screen button opens Brainy Break directly. On earlier versions, leave the paused app and open Brainy Break from the Home Screen.
