A little less clutter. Give your downloads useful names and a home, with on-device suggestions, custom categories, and optional automatic organizing. Your Downloads folder can feel calm again. Sorted helps you turn a pile of downloads into useful names and sensible folders, right on your Mac. Review the plan, make any changes, and choose Organize. THOUGHTFUL NAMES On-device AI reads supported PDFs and text documents to suggest names from their contents. Scanned PDFs can use local text recognition. Review the proposed name and the text used before applying a change. CATEGORIES THAT FIT YOUR LIFE Start with Documents, Images, and Installers. Add presets such as Sheet Music, Invoices, Receipts, and Manuals, or describe your own categories. Choose a destination, automatic organizing delay, and optional cleanup in one place. QUIETLY READY New downloads are prepared after they finish. Use the menu bar to organize ready downloads or find a file you already filed. Choose automatic organizing per category to apply the suggested name and destination after a delay. Downloads remain visible when automatic organizing is off or paused. FIND IT. UNDO IT. Search History by the original or current name. Open a file, reveal its recorded location, or Undo an unchanged move. Returned files stay in place until you choose otherwise. OPTIONAL CLEANUP Keep files indefinitely, or move eligible files filed by Sorted to Trash after 7, 30, or 90 days. Edited or replaced files are skipped. Sorted never empties Trash. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, advertising, tracking, or cloud AI service. Files and document processing stay on your Mac. One purchase, with no subscription or in-app purchases. REQUIREMENTS AND DETAILS Requires an Apple-silicon Mac with macOS 26 or later. Smart document suggestions require Apple Intelligence to be enabled and its on-device model available for your device, language, and region. Filing by type and manual filename editing remain available without AI. Sorted watches files directly inside your selected folder. Existing subfolders and unsupported file types stay in place. PDF suggestions use a limited sample of up to the first five pages; always review the result. Images receive filename cleanup, not image-content recognition. Destinations must be on the same disk. Automatic organizing and scheduled cleanup are off by default. Existing downloads wait for your click. Undo and Restore depend on the original file still being available and unchanged.
