Digitise your old photos — included in the purchase, no subscription. SCAN ALBUM PAGES AND SINGLE PRINTS • Photograph a whole album page: the app finds the individual prints, cuts them out, straightens each one and files it as a photo of its own. A single print works the same way. • Shots are taken at your camera's full resolution — as JPG or as RAW, in ProRAW on the Pro models. Several pages one after another work too. • Before you commit, you check what was found: every frame can be dragged by its four corners, moved or left out — and whatever the detection missed, you add yourself. Each frame shows how many megapixels it will come out at. • Afterwards you can give the whole batch a date. Leave it out and the field stays empty — better than a wrong date, since sorting and searching go by it. • The page shot itself is not kept; only the cut-out prints land in the album. TAKE A PHOTO Alongside memory cards and the Photos library there is now the direct route: “Take a photo” shoots into the open album, as JPG, as RAW or both at once. The import then runs as usual, with duplicate checking and RAW previews. ROTATE AND CROP Turn in 90° steps, straighten a crooked horizon by up to 15 degrees, crop freely or to 1:1, 4:3, 3:2 and 16:9, and set exposure, shadows and highlights by hand — each slider both ways. None of it changes the file: the values sit with the photo, and “Reset” brings the original back. A photo shared as a JPG carries the edit in it; the RAW original still leaves the archive untouched. SLIDESHOW MUSIC Load up to 10 of your own tracks into the app and tick what should play before each slideshow. The music fades in, carries on across every photo and fades out at the end — over AirPlay or a connected display too, and even while the device is muted. Your own files as MP3, M4A, WAV or AIFF; tracks from a music subscription are copy-protected and cannot be used.

Fotoarchiv is now available for the Mac as well — one purchase covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. FIXED • After an automatic correction the app crashed as soon as a photo was opened — and portrait shots suddenly lay on their side. The correction was being rendered at full resolution, more memory than a large RAW allows, and lost the photo’s orientation along the way. It is now rendered at display size, and the photo stands the way you shot it. • Backing up the same album again failed: the photos were already in iCloud, but the app tried to create them anew instead of replacing them — and then reported “0 of 6 photos backed up” although the backup was there. A backup run now replaces the existing copy, and the count is right again. • In an album, tapping a photo started the slideshow straight away. Now the photo opens full screen; the slideshow still starts from the play button. • When a backup copy was missing from iCloud, the app said “please try again later” — and the photo still counted as backed up, so the next backup skipped it. Now it says the copy is gone and queues the photo for backing up again. • Smart albums and search claimed “no matching photos” when photos did match but their image files weren't on this device yet. Now they name the album to download them from. • After downloading from a backup, grey placeholders sometimes stayed until you switched albums. • The photo picker didn't always close properly after an import. NEW • TIFF is accepted on import — alongside JPEG, HEIC and RAW. • When a file is turned away on import, the app now says why: PNG, screenshots and videos aren't taken.

Keywords, search across every album, and smart albums. KEYWORDING Every photo gets keywords, a title, a description, a rating from 1 to 5 stars and a colour label — from “Info & keywords” in the full-screen view or the grid's context menu. While you type, the app suggests keywords you have already used; upper and lower case don't matter. In a multi-selection you keyword many photos at once — a whole memory card in a few steps. A version edited elsewhere takes over its original's details, so nothing has to be kept up twice. SEARCH ACROSS EVERY ALBUM The magnifying glass in the album overview searches keywords, title, description, file name, camera, lens, album name and the year a photo was taken. Several words must all appear — “macro dragonfly” or “Sony 2026”. With nothing typed you see every keyword in use with its count, one tap away from the photos. SMART ALBUMS A smart album holds no photos of its own, only rules: “keyword is astrophotography”, “rating at least 4 stars”, “taken between …”, “camera contains …”, “has a RAW file”, “no keywords yet”, “not edited yet” or “not backed up yet”. It always shows whatever matches right now, so it keeps itself up to date. Either all rules have to match or any one is enough, and while you set them up you see how many photos they match. Templates like “Best pictures”, “No keywords yet” or “Not backed up yet” are one tap away. Presenting and contact sheets work straight from a smart album. Photos from protected albums never appear in search or smart albums. KEYWORDS TRAVEL ALONG When you share, the app writes keywords, title, description and rating into the file itself — for a RAW original into an .xmp file beside it, leaving the RAW untouched. Lightroom, Bridge, Capture One and the rest pick both up on import.

Importing from a memory card was harder to find than it should be. • The hint before the import now says where the card is: in the file picker, tap "Browse" at the bottom – the card sits under "Locations", often as "NO NAME", with the DCIM folder inside. It never appears under "Recents", where the picker starts. • The hint stays until an import from a card has worked once. • Fixed: after confirming the hint, the file picker sometimes didn't open at all.

A contact sheet as a PDF — and a tidier way around the app. NEW: CONTACT SHEET AS A PDF Turn any album into a contact sheet on A4 — all photos or only the starred ones, with a title, the photo names, your footer, your logo if you like, and boxes to tick. Four layouts to choose from: Compact (24 photos per page), Standard (12), Client selection (6 large photos) and Landscape (20 on an A4 landscape page). Each one comes with a sample page right in the picker. The PDF is made on the device and goes from there to your clients by mail, messenger or AirDrop — or straight to the printer. TIDIER MENUS • “Backup & sharing” is now split into three parts: Backup, Publish and Contact sheet. Each one folds open and closed and shows its status even while closed. • In the Info tab every topic folds open on its own; the book recommendation stays visible. • The introduction has been reworked — now covering editing elsewhere, presenting and backing up — and can be reopened any time from the Info tab. SMALLER IMPROVEMENTS • Pressing and holding a photo in the grid now shows the same menu as the full-screen view. • The metadata sheet shows the photo it belongs to as a small preview. • Fixed: presenting with “All photos” sometimes claimed that no photos were starred.
