Masjid Explorer
Mosques, prayer times & qibla
Free · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Find mosques anywhere, check in on the spot, and build your Masjid Passport. Accurate prayer times, qibla compass, Apple Watch app, and widgets — in EN, FR and NL.
Masjid Explorer helps you find mosques anywhere in the world and keep track of every visit.
Open the map to see mosques near you. In Belgium, listings use curated, verified data with addresses and contact details. Elsewhere, the map draws live data from OpenStreetMap with a clear "Community data" indicator so you always know where the information comes from.
When you visit a mosque, check in on the spot. The app verifies you are nearby, then adds the visit to your Masjid Passport. Build up stats, unlock badges, and watch your level grow over time. Check-ins work offline and sync once you are back online.
Accurate prayer times are calculated through the Aladhan service using established methods. Choose the calculation method that fits your school of thought, and let the app schedule a quiet reminder a few minutes before each prayer. The built-in qibla compass points you toward Mecca, even without an internet connection.
Take Masjid Explorer with you on Apple Watch. A companion app shows today's prayer times at a glance, and complications keep the next prayer on your watch face. Home-screen and lock-screen widgets show the next prayer and the closest mosque without opening the app.
Masjid Explorer is available in English, French, and Dutch. Sign in with Apple to sync your passport across devices. You can delete your account, and all the data attached to it, at any time from Settings → Account.
Privacy is built in. Location is used only to show nearby mosques and confirm check-ins, never tracked in the background. There are no ads and no cross-app tracking, so the app never asks for tracking permission.
Made for travellers, residents, and anyone who wants to keep prayer at the centre of their day.
