Your Windows desktop in a window or on an immersive screen. Free and open source. Requires a compatible Windows PC and separately downloaded NVIDIA CloudXR components. Your Windows PC on Apple Vision Pro. Free and open source. vindOS brings your own PC to your headset over your local network. Pair once, then connect to your Windows desktop in a window. Use pointer, click, drag, scroll and keyboard input, or switch to a large immersive screen in front of you. WINDOWED AND FULLSCREEN Work with the apps already on your PC. Enter Fullscreen when you want a larger screen, recenter it, and return to your desktop window. STEAM VR GAMES Launch supported VR games from Steam on your PC and return to your desktop when you quit. OpenVR games require the separately licensed OpenComposite bridge supplied with the Windows companion. Compatibility testing so far covers Assetto Corsa on an RTX 4070; other games and GPUs are not yet verified. Games are obtained separately. REQUIREMENTS • Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26.4 or later. • Windows 11 x64 PC with a compatible NVIDIA GPU. • Both devices on the same trusted local network. • The vindOS Windows companion, available at https://www.peterwang.tech/vindos. • NVIDIA CloudXR Runtime 6.2.3 and Stream Manager 6.1.0, downloaded separately from NVIDIA NGC. Both are required for setup and pairing, including windowed desktop use. NVIDIA account access and terms apply separately. The Windows companion is currently unsigned and may show an unknown-publisher warning. Windows running as administrator do not accept vindOS input. Mac Virtual Display's keyboard connection is unavailable while that display is hidden by an immersive space. NO SUBSCRIPTION No vindOS account, subscription, paid unlocks, advertising or app analytics. Pairing credentials stay on your devices. Windowed desktop traffic uses pinned TLS 1.3. NVIDIA CloudXR immersive video is not encrypted; use a trusted network.
