Chess for kids, with a coach

$0.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Learn chess with Ollie the owl, who explains every move in plain words, then replay your games and see exactly where they turned. Knight Kids teaches children to play chess, one move at a time. Ollie the chess owl watches every game and explains what is happening in plain words. Make a move and Ollie tells you whether it was a good idea, and why. Ask for the best move whenever you like: Ollie draws an arrow and explains the plan behind it. SIX FRIENDLY OPPONENTS Baby Bear is only just learning. Playful Pup grabs any piece you leave free. Clever Cat spots simple traps. Sly Fox plans several moves ahead. Wise Owl punishes mistakes. Chess Dragon plays at full strength. LEARN WHILE YOU PLAY - Every move you make is graded, from Perfect to Uh oh, with a short explanation - How to Play shows what each piece does, plus castling, en passant and promotion - Ideas like forks, pins, skewers and back rank mates are explained when they turn up in your own game SEE HOW YOU ARE DOING - Every finished game is saved, with your accuracy - Replay any game move by move, with the coach's grade on each of your moves - Jump straight to your mistakes and ask what would have been better MADE FOR CHILDREN - No accounts and no sign-in - No adverts, no in-app purchases, no tracking, and nothing collected about you - Works with no connection at all: the chess engine and the coach both run on your device Pick a nickname and an emoji, choose an opponent, and start playing.
