Custom Menu Bar Clock – Day of Year, Full Date & Time Personalization
Looking for a menu bar clock on macOS that displays the Day of the Year (DOY) at a glance? After Apple removed custom date-formatting strings from the system menu bar clock settings, having precise, custom date formats became surprisingly difficult. Custom Menu Bar Clock solves this problem by giving you complete control over how time and dates are presented right in your Mac’s menu bar.
Whether you rely on ordinal dates (Day of Year) for supply chain tracking, manufacturing, software development, aviation, or personal productivity, this app puts the exact information you need front and center.
Key Features:
Day of the Year (DOY) Support: Effortlessly display the current ordinal date (1–366) directly in your menu bar.
Highly Customizable Formats: Choose from a wide variety of preset date and time styles or build your own custom layout using standard format strings.
Minimalist & Lightweight: Designed specifically for macOS to be memory-efficient and seamless without distracting background drain.
Launch at Login: Option to automatically start on boot so your custom clock is always ready when you are.
Native macOS Experience: Matches the look and feel of modern macOS dark and light modes cleanly.
Why You’ll Love It:
Simple & Focused: No unnecessary bloat, subscription fees, or hidden menus - just a clean, reliable, and powerful utility clock.
Tailored for Professionals: Ideal for engineers, project managers, logistics specialists, pilots, and power users who work with day-of-year calculations daily.
Take back control of your Mac’s menu bar date display with a clock built for utility, simplicity, and total customization!
