Record any meeting, lecture or voice note. Get a transcript, a summary and the action items that were actually said, all on your own device. Nothing is uploaded. Recap turns your recordings into something you can act on: a clean transcript, a short summary, and the action items people actually said out loud. All of it happens on your own device. Not "encrypted in transit." Not "deleted after 30 days." Your audio never leaves the device, because Recap has no servers to send it to. 100% ON DEVICE Recap uses Apple's on-device speech recognition and the Foundation Models framework built into iOS 26 and macOS 26. There is no account and no sign-in. The first time you use a language, Apple downloads its speech model; after that, you can switch on Airplane Mode and everything still works. TRANSCRIBE ANYTHING • Record meetings, lectures, interviews and voice notes, with pause and resume • Import audio you already have: m4a, mp3, wav and more • No time limits, no per-minute charges, no subscription • Search your library and your transcripts, and fix any misheard word by editing it SUMMARIES AND ACTION ITEMS • A short summary of what the recording was about • The tasks and decisions that were stated, with who is doing them • Tick items off as you go, or send them straight to Reminders • Recap would rather show an empty list than invent tasks: every action item is checked against the words in the recording LISTEN AND ASK • Play back any recording while the transcript follows along • Tap a paragraph's time to jump straight to that moment • Ask questions about a recording and get answers drawn only from what was said, with a link to play the moment it came from PRIVACY IS THE ARCHITECTURE Recap collects no data, because it cannot. There is no analytics, no crash reporter and no third-party code of any kind, only Apple's own frameworks. REQUIREMENTS Recap runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac with iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26. Recording, transcription and playback work on every supported device. Summaries, action items and Ask need Apple Intelligence: iPhone 15 Pro or newer, an iPad with M1 or later, or a Mac with Apple silicon.
