Five truths. Five traps. How far will you push it?
Fact Minefield is a trivia game about knowing when to stop. Each round asks one question and shows ten answers on a light-up studio floor. Five are true and five are traps. Tap a truth and the pot grows. Tap a trap and that round's pot is gone.
BANK OR RISK
Truths add 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1,000 points, so the pot climbs to 200, 600, 1,200, 2,000 and 3,000. Once you have found a truth, Bank keeps the pot and ends the round. Find all five for a perfect clear: a 1,000-point bonus, 4,000 for the round, banked for you. A trap loses only that round's pot. Points you have banked are safe.
QUICK PLAY OR STANDARD
Quick Play is three rounds. Standard is five, with medals for your total: Bronze at 6,000, Silver at 8,000 and Gold at 10,000. Choose Easy or Hard. Hard asks for deeper knowledge. It never adds a timer or changes the rules.
SIX CATEGORIES, 144 BOARDS
Entertainment, Geography, History, Science & Nature, Sports and General Knowledge, each at Easy and Hard, or Mixed for all six. There are 12 boards for every category and difficulty, and each board holds at least eight truths and eight traps, so a board can deal a different ten next time.
EVERY ANSWER HAS A SOURCE
When a round closes, tap any answer to see why it is true or a trap, then More for the page it cites. All 2,910 answers have been checked against their cited sources, and Support shows when. Think an answer needs correcting? Report an answer shows you a note to copy, or to send yourself from Mail. Nothing is sent unless you send it.
A LATE-NIGHT QUIZ STUDIO
Light-up floor panels, a marquee scoreboard whose bulbs chase faster as the pot grows, a blackout and a cartoon "POOF!" when you hit a trap, and confetti for a perfect clear. Play in portrait or landscape.
SHARE YOUR SCORE
Share a card with your score and a row of lights for each round. It gives no answers away.
YOUR RECORD
Your best score in each mode, how many games you have finished, your perfect clears and your last 20 games, kept on your iPhone. Home and every result show the best to beat.
PLAYS OFFLINE
Every question, answer and explanation is inside the app, so it plays in aeroplane mode. Only a source's web page needs a connection. Leave in the middle of a game and Home keeps it for you to resume.
NOTHING COLLECTED
No account, no ads, no analytics and no purchases. Sound and haptics can each be switched off. The text follows your iPhone's text size, and Settings adds high contrast, reduced motion and larger text.
