Lampion – Stories of the World
Bedtime tales to hear and read
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Lampion brings together tales from all over the world, read aloud and illustrated scene by scene. Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, India, China, Mexico, Palestine… each story opens a window onto a culture.
LISTEN OR READ
Every tale is read aloud, and the text lights up word by word as the voice goes. A child who already reads can follow along; a child who doesn't yet can simply listen. Both move forward together.
AT THEIR OWN PACE
One scene after another, with large illustrations. Pause, go back, and pick up where you left off — even days later.
IN ENGLISH, FRENCH AND ARABIC
The whole app switches from one language to another, including the reading direction for Arabic. A story is also available in another language? Read it in that language straight from its page. Arabic stories are fully vowelled, to help young readers.
NO CONNECTION NEEDED
Download a story — or every story at once — and it stays available on a plane, in the car, anywhere. Text, pictures, voice and quiz included.
A SHORT QUIZ, NEVER COMPULSORY
Three questions at the end of each story. Children can skip them: the lantern is earned as soon as the story is finished.
LANTERNS TO LIGHT
A lantern lights up for every story finished. A collection that grows, with no score, no ranking, no pressure.
MADE FOR CHILDREN
No account to create. No ads. No in-app purchases. No personal data: progress stays on the device. Two moods to choose from, night blue or pink, and large buttons that are easy to tap.
For ages 5 to 10, and for anyone who loves being told a story.
