Read your lines, roll the camera, keep the take that lands. Take Studio puts a teleprompter, a take library and a caption editor inside one project, so a written script turns into a finished, captioned video without hopping between apps.
THE PROMPTER
• Your script scrolls over the camera preview at a speed you set, from half speed to double
• Change the text size, line width, reading guide and backdrop, and drag the prompt up near the lens
• Count yourself in with a 3, 5 or 10 second countdown before each take
• Mirror the script text for a beam-splitter teleprompter rig, or keep selfie recordings mirrored
• The prompt and the record controls never show up in your footage
BEFORE YOU ROLL
• Type, paste or import a plain-text script and see its word count and an estimated speaking time
• Break it into numbered shot cards, so each section of the talk has its own line to deliver
• Tighten for speaking trims filler, wordy phrases and long sentences and shows every change before it replaces your words (three free uses, then Pro)
TAKE AFTER TAKE
• Record as many takes of a shot as you need, or pull in clips you shot earlier, from Photos or from Files
• Star the strong ones and switch between two takes at the same moment to hear which delivery works
• Choose a take and it joins your cut
THE CUT
• Trim, split, duplicate and reorder clips, with undo and redo
• Fit or fill the frame, zoom in up to 3x, mute a clip or set its volume
• Your original recordings are never altered
CAPTIONS YOU CAN CORRECT
• Type captions yourself, or transcribe on device where your device and language support it (a one-time system speech download may be needed)
• Fix any word, nudge its timing, then pick plain or boxed, bold, colors and alignment
• Burn them into the export or leave them out
OUT THE DOOR
• Vertical 9:16, square 1:1 or widescreen 16:9, up to five minutes, as a 1080p MP4 at 30 fps
• Save to Photos or Files, or send it on through the share sheet
• Back up a whole project with its original footage and bring it back whenever you need it
• On iPhone Duo, the preview and the editing tools share the wider screen
ONE PROJECT, OR MANY WITH PRO
Apart from tightening more than three scripts, all of the above comes without a subscription, one active project at a time. Archive a finished project to open a new one; archived projects can still be edited and exported. If your first install is version 1.3 or later and you use it without Pro, each export ends with a 2-second "Made with Take Studio" card; the recording itself is never marked, and the Export screen shows the card before you start. Take Studio Pro removes that card from new exports, lets you run several active projects, keeps caption brand presets for reuse and tightens scripts with no limit. If you used Take Studio before 1.3, your exports never get the card.
YOUR FOOTAGE STAYS HERE
Projects live on your device. There is no Take Studio account, no ads and no analytics in the app. Backup archives are unencrypted, and device backups or places you share to may keep copies of their own.
HOW PRO BILLING WORKS
Pro comes in two lengths, a month and a year, and both renew on their own. The purchase sheet spells out the Pro price for your country, how long each term runs and whether an intro offer applies to you, and nothing is billed until you confirm. Pro yearly includes a free 1-week trial for eligible new subscribers. A term's renewal is charged within its final 24 hours, so switch auto-renewal off before that window opens to stop the next charge; the switch sits with your other subscriptions in Settings, under your name. Should Pro lapse, every project, take, export and backup you created remains yours to open and export.
Take Studio needs iOS 26 at minimum. HDR clips are converted to SDR when you import them.
