Your bank adds 1.5-3% to every foreign purchase. Pricelux shows the real number - hover any price on any site and see what it will actually cost you.
Pricelux is not another currency converter. It does not ask you to copy a price, open an app and type it in. It lives inside Safari, on the pages where prices actually appear, and it answers the one question a converter cannot: how much will this take out of my account?
YOUR BANK'S FEE IS PART OF THE PRICE
The mid-market rate is not what leaves your account. Your card adds a foreign-transaction markup on top of it, and most charge between 1.5% and 3%. Enter yours once and every price on every site is shown with it already applied. That is the figure that turns up on your statement.
HOVER ANY PRICE, ANYWHERE
No copying, no typing, no switching windows. Point at a price on a shop, an airline, a hotel page or a forum post, and a small card shows it in up to five currencies you chose. Prefer it always visible? Switch to inline mode and the conversion is written in place, right beside the original.
READS PRICES THE WAY SITES REALLY WRITE THEM
EUR 49,99 - 49,99 EUR - 1 299 kr - RM 89.90 - 250 USD - USD 89.50 - 49 dollars. And all three ways the world groups numbers: 1,234.56 - 1.234,56 - 1 234,56. Around 150 currencies are recognised.
KNOWS WHAT "$" MEANS ON THIS PAGE
A bare $ on a Canadian store means Canadian dollars. Pricelux reads the site's own price data, its Open Graph tags and its domain before falling back to your preference. Nothing to configure.
SEES THE WHOLE PAGE
Prices inside iframes, inside shadow DOM, and prices split across several elements are all found.
THIRTY DAYS OF CONTEXT
A small chart shows whether the rate has moved for or against you this month, so you know whether to buy now or wait.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no sign-up, no tracking, no analytics. The pages you visit and the prices you hover never leave your Mac. Rates are fetched twice a day and cached, so it keeps working offline.
Rates come from ExchangeRate-API and the European Central Bank.
Open it once, pick your currencies, enter your card's fee, and forget it is there.
