Speech Beach is a practice tool for people who stutter. Put on headphones, start talking, and hear your own voice played back with a short delay (Delayed Auditory Feedback, DAF) and, if you like, a slightly shifted pitch (Frequency-Altered Feedback, FAF). Many people find that this kind of altered feedback helps them slow down and speak more smoothly. GUIDED PRACTICE Not sure what to practice? Nine guided exercises, from a warm-up and reading aloud to easy onsets, phrases with pauses and everyday situations, set the delay for you and tell you what to say. A delay ladder lowers the delay step by step, and a short check without feedback shows whether feedback actually helps you. Set a daily goal and a reminder, rate how each session felt, and find tips for getting the most out of your practice. ADAPTIVE MODE Speech Beach listens to how you are speaking. When it detects likely disfluencies, such as prolonged sounds, repeated starts or blocks, or when you speed up, it gradually increases the delay. While you speak fluently, it eases the delay back toward your minimum. TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Every session is saved on your device. See your speech rate, disfluencies per minute and practice time over 7, 30 or 90 days, and how they compare with the period before.
