TaxStayLog counts the days you spend in each state and country automatically. It records where you spent each day even when the app is closed. Matching runs on an offline map inside your device so your location never leaves it.
Rules it can count
- US state 183-day rule by calendar year with any part of a day counting as one
- US substantial presence test weighted over the current and two previous years
- Country 183-day rules by calendar year or a rolling 12 months
- Schengen 90/180 including the next date you may enter again
- Visa and custom limits with your own cap and period type
It does not hide what it missed
A day with no observation is not silently counted as zero. It appears in an unknown days list. Apply the previous day to all of them in one tap or set each day yourself.
You can always fix the past
Tap any day in the calendar to change the place. Long press to fill a whole range at once such as January 5 to February 20 in Florida.
Your records stay put
Everything is stored on your device and no account is needed. Automatic backups keep several generations and you can export and import CSV.
Choose how a day is counted
States define a day differently so you can count any part of the day the place at midnight or the place where most of the day was spent. Alerts arrive at 10 and 5 days left and when the limit is reached.
Automatic counting and the current day count are free forever.
