What's New in 1.8 Story Reels. Turn a trip into a story directed by your own AI. CheckinPlace gives you a prompt; paste it into the AI you already use and the reply becomes your Reel. Fine-tune it scene by scene and add your own notes. One unlock covers both the Story and the Cinematic Reel. Better Reels. The Cinematic Reel has a more dramatic 3D tilt, easier-to-read captions and chapter titles as you arrive. A new Reel Settings screen lets you adjust the camera and the timing. Your Reels are now sorted into To Unlock and My Reels, grouped by year. Private or Business. Mark each trip as Private or Business and filter your trips by type. Scratch map. Whole countries now show up, every region is named under the gold, and the map reopens where you left it. And more. - Bicycle is a new transport mode - Merging one trip into another is easier - The app checks with you before a second check-in on the same spot - Long trip names fit inside their stamps - Reel videos are shared under the trip's name - Assorted fixes and polish

Now in 11 languages - CheckinPlace now speaks Spanish, Italian, German, French, Portuguese, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Malay and Indonesian. The app follows your iPhone's language — or choose a different one for CheckinPlace in iPhone Settings. - Share your scratch map - Open any country on your scratch map and tap Share to post it as a story card: the regions you've scratched open, how far along you are, and what's still waiting under the gold. - Plus small improvements and fixes.

Introducing the Scratch Map Your travels now leave a mark on the map. • Scratch it open: each trip Reel now ends at the country where your trip started. The regions you visited are covered in gold. Scratch them off to reveal them, and your stamp lands at the end. • Regions you passed through by car, bus, train or on foot count too, not just the places you checked in. • A new Scratch Map card on Home shows every country you've scratched. Open a country to see its regions, or spin the globe to find any country. Also in this update • Trip management is now split into Planned and Completed, with filters for Holidays and Trips. Older completed items fold into compact rows. • Completed single trips now get their own card. • Each stamp now keeps the same colour for good. • Small improvements and fixes.

NEW IN 1.5 • AI Ideas: ask your own AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, …) for sights along your route, day tours, places to stay and food. Paste the answer back, and the ideas land in an Ideas inbox for your trip or Holiday, already placed on the map. Tap + to add one to a day. Start from the new AI Assistant card in the Planner, or from a trip, a day or an upcoming Holiday. • Every round brings new places: the AI is told which ideas it already suggested. • Stop categories: mark a planned stop as a sight, tour, stay or food with a long press. The icon shows in your day and trip lists and on the map pins of your check-ins. Ideas and shared plans keep their category. • Pick your trip card photos: tick up to 5 photos in a completed trip's gallery to put them on the share card. As always, CheckinPlace never talks to an AI itself, and your trips stay on your device.

Reels in 3D • Your Reel now flies over real terrain: hills and mountains rise up as the camera tilts. • The camera follows the direction you travelled, like you're on the road again, without turning at every photo along the way. • Flights head straight for their destination. • At the end, the camera turns north and pulls back to show your whole route in one smooth move. • The opening zoom into your first stop is quicker, so you get to your trip sooner. • Prefer the classic flat view? Turn off 3D Camera in the Reel settings. Maps remember your view • Completed trips and Holidays now keep how you rotated and tilted the map, not just where you zoomed. Your Holiday picture follows too. Thanks for travelling with CheckinPlace! Enjoying the app? A review on the App Store means a lot

• Smoother Reels: long journeys like flights now glide across the map at a comfortable pace, and every Reel ends on your whole route. • Share a Reel again instantly — no re-recording. • Watch or create a Reel straight from your trips list. • A Holiday with two or more trips now gets its combined Holiday Reel free once every trip has its Reel. • Your Holiday picture updates automatically as you frame the map, and trip maps remember your zoom. • Fixes for Holiday pictures, Stamp names after renaming a trip, and more.
