Almanac: App Analytics

Downloads, proceeds, history

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Apple only serves a rolling window of daily reports. Almanac keeps every day from the day you connect, so your history grows instead of scrolling off the end. Almanac reads your App Store Connect analytics and keeps them. Apple serves a rolling window of daily reports, and a one-time snapshot reaches back only 365 days from the date you ask. Days older than that stop being available. Almanac saves every day it has ever seen, so instead of a window that slides forward and drops your early months, you get a record that only grows. EVERY APP YOU SHIP, ON ONE SCREEN The portfolio view pools all of your apps and aggregates once, so ratios are weighted properly rather than averaged from per-app averages. Downloads, proceeds, impressions, product page views, conversion, active devices, crashes and ratings, over 7 days, 30, 90, six months, month to date, year to date, or everything you have. FAMILIES, SO A CROWDED CHART STAYS READABLE Sort your apps into families of your own. Each family gets one color and its apps get shades of it. The chart and the leaderboard group by family; tap one to see its apps. Families follow you between your devices. WHAT CHANGED SINCE YESTERDAY A digest of what actually moved: apps up or down against their own recent normal, new reviews, crash spikes, apps that went quiet, and download and proceeds milestones. Movers rank on median and absolute change rather than percentage, because across small apps one download to three is a 200 percent increase and would top every list forever. Almanac also marks your firsts, best days, streaks, comebacks and anniversaries. WHICH RELEASES PEOPLE KEPT Each app's page shows how many people took each update, from the day it shipped until the next one. WHERE YOU RANK IN SEARCH Each app's page shows where it ranks in App Store search for the words in its name, subtitle and keywords, checked once a day, with a chart that marks the days your listing changed. Thinking about a new keyword? Look it up first to see who ranks for it and how crowded the search is. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN AND IN THE MORNING Widgets in three sizes, plus an optional note each morning with the latest totals. Both always state the day the numbers are complete through, because App Store Connect reports run one to three days behind and "yesterday" is never what they mean. NUMBERS THAT ARE HONEST ABOUT THEMSELVES Proceeds is labeled proceeds, never revenue, because it is Apple's post-commission figure. Active devices averages across days rather than summing, since the same device appears on every day. Conversion is downloads per product page view, with Tap-through (page views per impression) beside it, so you can see which half of the page needs work; both are recomputed from summed parts, never averaged from daily rates. A day Apple never reported shows as no data, not as a zero, so the charts have no invented valleys. YOUR WEBSITE, TOO Optional: connect your own WordPress site and see its Jetpack Stats traffic next to your apps. It is outside the purchase. NOTHING REACHES THE DEVELOPER Almanac has no account, no server and no sign-in. Your App Store Connect API key is stored in the keychain and used only to talk to Apple, and a website's password, if you connect one, is kept there too. Your history stays on your device, with a backup in your own iCloud Drive so a new device can get it back. No analytics, no tracking, nothing collected. On iPhone and iPad, with one purchase covering both. Requires an App Store Connect API key with the Admin role. Apple restricts the Analytics Reports API to Admin keys, and App Store Connect will not warn you if yours is scoped lower. Almanac tells you before you create the key, and says so plainly if the key you paste cannot read reports. Not affiliated with Apple Inc.

Search rankings. Each app's page now shows where it ranks in App Store search for the words in its name, subtitle and keywords, checked once a day, with a chart that marks the days your listing changed. The Sources tab now has a Search panel too: every app's ranking terms in one list, best first, so you can see them all without opening each app. Try a keyword before you use it: see who ranks for it, how crowded the search is, and what it would take in your keywords field. Check any country. Pick an App Store country on any search screen to see your ranks there, and tap one of a term's top ten results to open it in the App Store. And the digest tells you when a search term you held in the top 25 falls 10 or more places.
