Motion Frequency is a set of rooms of moving light, each one breathing in time with a hum you tune yourself. Drag up and down anywhere on the picture and the hum slides from 60 to 600 Hz under your finger, the room following, until it feels right. Or tap the number at the top and dial one in exactly.
TWENTY-FOUR ROOMS Crystal lattices, nested cages, a butterfly of see-through petals, a tunnel of turning spheres, coral grown from folded space, sand on a singing plate, the Milky Way reflected in still water — and more. Every one is drawn live on your iPhone, and every one answers the sound: it swells as the hum breathes in, takes its colour from the note, and moves when you play.
PLAY IT Tap to strike a singing bowl. Draw across the screen to play a scale — each note has its own colour. Tilt the phone and some rooms lean with you.
SHAPE THE SOUND The hum is made on your iPhone, not played back: pure tones added together. Change how bright it is, how slowly it breathes, how it drifts, add undertones, a fifth, a choir of voices, a slow wobble, an echo. Save the sound you like and every room opens with it.
LEARN Six short illustrated pages: what a frequency is, the named frequencies and what has actually been found about them, why the patterns look the way they do, how to make any room your own, the colour of a note, and how the hum is made.
RECORD Record any room, with its sound, straight to your photo library.
SLEEP TIMER Set a time and the sound and picture fade out gently over a minute.

- iPad: every room, any way up, drawn at the iPad's full size.
- TV and projector: connect with a cable or AirPlay and the TV shows the room full screen at its own shape, while your iPhone or iPad keeps the controls.
- VJ: each room now plays itself, changing every 20 or 40 seconds; a struck bowl changes more at once. On by default, and off in the room's settings.
- Auto: the sound drifts by itself the same way, gliding a few settings somewhere new. Touch a setting and Auto leaves it to you.
- Built-in sounds to start from, alongside the ones you save.
- A clearer moon over the water, and Spiro sized to the screen.
