BugOut - Mosquito Risk Alert

Weather Forecast & Audio Lab

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Real-time mosquito activity index based on local weather, science-backed CDC repellent guide, and an acoustic frequency experimental lab. BugOut is an intelligent outdoor weather advisory and insect protection companion tailored for campers, hikers, runners, and families. By integrating localized real-time meteorological elements with entomological activity models, BugOut helps you understand outdoor biting risks before stepping outside. KEY FEATURES: 1. Real-time Mosquito Activity Forecast • Meteorological Ecological Model: Calculates an intuitive 0–100 Activity Index based on temperature, relative humidity, and wind speed. • Crepuscular Peak Detection: Automatically detects dawn and dusk transition hours (the crepuscular feeding window) and applies empirical risk weighting. • Actionable Safety Tips: Delivers personalized protection advice tailored to the current risk tier. 2. Acoustic Frequency Lab • Pure Code Synthesis: Real-time sine-wave generation from 15.0 kHz to 22.0 kHz with zero audio pre-recordings. • Curated Presets: Explore experimental modes including "Male Mosquito Wingbeat Harmonics", "Dragonfly Wing Harmonics", and "Frequency Sweep (15–22 kHz)". • Precision Control: Step adjustments (+/- 100 Hz) for acoustic exploration and device frequency response testing. 3. Science-Backed Repellent Guide • Verified Sources: Curated directly from public data published by the CDC, WHO, and EPA. • Comprehensive Ingredient Database: Detailed comparisons of gold-standard active ingredients like Picaridin and DEET, including recommended concentrations, protection durations, age restrictions, and application tips. • Health & Safety Protocols: Practical advice on avoiding eye/mouth contact and proper post-outdoor washing procedures. COMPLIANCE & DISCLAIMER: - The Activity Index is an empirical estimation based on atmospheric variables and should be used as a recreational reference. Local factors (such as standing water reservoirs and vegetation density) can affect actual insect presence. - The Acoustic Lab is designed strictly for acoustic testing and experimental observation. Scientific consensus indicates that sound waves cannot replace certified chemical insect repellents. In high-risk environments, please rely on registered repellents (such as Picaridin or DEET) and physical barriers.
