Traffic Cameras SE now covers more than 13,300 cameras in six states, and drive the road follows I-95, I-85 and I-77 from North Carolina into Virginia. - Virginia: about 1,700 VDOT cameras with live video. Uses less data: - Live video stops downloading as soon as you leave it. - Widgets reuse images the app just downloaded instead of fetching them again. - In Low Data Mode, the Favorites grid refreshes every 5 minutes. Also: - Widgets showing Georgia cameras refresh more reliably in the background. - iPhone Duo: half-folded layouts line up with the fold using the system's own arrangement, and held like a book, the small road label in the corner is gone.

- Widgets stay up to date even when a state's still images are down: Traffic Cams refreshes them now and then in the background. - Georgia favorites no longer show "Camera unavailable" for cameras that are working. - Georgia cameras load more reliably while GDOT's still images are out.

A friendlier start: - The first screen says what Traffic Cameras SE covers and offers three ways in: cameras near you, browse by road, or the map. - The map opens on your area when location is on. - Each camera page has a button to drive that road, camera by camera. - After you star a camera, a tip shows how to add it to your Home Screen. Also: - Live video says it's connecting while the stream starts, and a slow camera says it's getting the latest image. - Distances are rounded ("250 ft", not "247.3 ft"). - Cameras whose video briefly fails are retried sooner.

Bug fix for SC cams, clearer notice of offline GA cams

Two more states: Florida and Louisiana. Traffic Cameras SE now covers more than 11,600 cameras in five states, and drive the road follows I-95 and I-75 from one state into the next. - Florida: about 5,000 FL511 cameras with live video, with clear names in place of FDOT's camera codes. - Louisiana: about 490 cameras with live video. Drive the road now has a map: every camera on the road as a dot, with the one you're watching pinned. It follows you as you move along the road, and tapping a dot jumps to that camera. On iPhone, the map button switches between the list and the map. Also: - Browse lists each road's cameras in order along the road, so mileposts run in sequence. - Filter Browse by state and choose the sort order from one menu. - The map has a key to its pin colors. Tap a state to zoom to it. - Each camera page credits the agency that provides it. - A new app icon, designed for Liquid Glass.

Drive the road: open any camera and tap the winding-path button to see every camera on that road in order, with a marker where it crosses into another state. Swipe the picture, or tap Next and Previous, to move along the road. New on iPhone Duo: - Open like a book, the road's cameras are on the left page and the current camera on the right. Fully open, the list and the camera each get one half. - Folded on a table, drive the road puts the camera on the upright half and the list on the half lying flat. - Tabletop dashboard: fold iPhone Duo on a table and Favorites becomes a large feed that cycles through your cameras, with your favorites in easy reach below. The screen stays on while it's showing. - Every tile size now changes the Favorites grid, on the cover display and in every fold position. - In Split View, camera pages use the normal layout. Improvements: - Uses much less data: a camera's image is only downloaded when there's a new one. - Widgets are more reliable and use less battery: they no longer get stuck on a camera that's down. - Cameras that are offline are checked less often, saving data and battery. - Browse and search are faster. - Favorites pick up camera name changes automatically. - The tip jar offers Try Again if tips can't load.

North Carolina is here: more than 1,000 DriveNC cameras join Georgia and South Carolina, with snapshots and live video. Filter Browse by NC, or find them on the map in green. Also: - Browse opens much faster. - Georgia cameras no longer show "Unknown" as their direction.
