Quiet scripture reader offline
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Read fourteen Buddhist classics offline with bilingual comparison, speech, search, notes, and daily verses—no account, no ads.
Buddhist Classics (佛典) is a calm, modern reader for Buddhist scriptures.
Explore fourteen classics with Simplified and Traditional Chinese texts bundled in the app for offline reading. Selected shorter scriptures include twelve languages. Switch between monolingual and bilingual comparison reading. Listen with text-to-speech, including a slower reading pace. Search across the library, save favorites, add notes, and resume where you left off with reading progress. Start each day with a Daily Verse.
Optional Daily Kindness purchases are available if you wish to support ongoing curation and maintenance. Scripture reading remains free. Purchases do not unlock required content and are not charitable donations to any temple or organization.
Some non-Chinese translations are app-created learning translations and are clearly labeled in the reader. They are not presented as historical or official translations.
No account is required. No ads. No tracking. Your favorites, notes, progress, and settings stay on your device.
