Anka: Period, Pregnancy, Baby

Private Tracker & Newborn Log

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

One app for your cycle, your pregnancy and your baby. No ads, nothing sold, and nothing you need at 3am behind a paywall. Your cycle is never sent to Anka servers. I built Anka for the things women are left to remember. Like a lot of births, mine was hard, and afterwards I could barely look after myself. My partner and I kept a shared note on our phones for every feed, nap and diaper. It was so clumsy that we kept forgetting to fill it in, and kept rewriting it when we did. Friends were doing the same in notes apps and notebooks. So I started building a baby log in the only free time I had: my son's naps. Then I remembered the end of my pregnancy. The app I had used for years put most of what I needed behind a paywall, right when I was anxious and close to my due date. When my periods came back, it showed an ad every time I opened it, with no way to close it. Anka is the app I wanted instead. Your cycle, a pregnancy and your baby, held in one place. No ads. Nothing sold. Nothing you need at 3am is ever paid for. YOUR CYCLE Log your period in one tap, with how heavy it is. Add spotting, cramps, bloating, headaches, sore breasts, pain and mood. See it all on a timeline or a period calendar. Your next period is shown as a date range worked out from your own cycles, with how many cycles it is based on. It gets narrower as you log more. You can turn it off. After a birth, bleeding in the weeks after is not counted as a period, and your first cycles are counted from the birth. Anka has no fertile window and no ovulation prediction, and it is not birth control. YOUR PREGNANCY Weeks and days, your trimester and your due date, worked out from your last period, a scan or an IVF transfer. Each week: a drawing of the baby's typical size as a fruit or vegetable, what your baby is doing, what you might notice, and things worth knowing. Symptoms vary, and Anka says so. Keep appointments with the questions you want to ask, and your maternity unit's number where you can find it. A clear list of when to call your midwife or doctor. Share your dates with a partner in one message. If a pregnancy ends, Anka goes quiet and gentle, and nothing about it appears on your Today screen. YOUR BABY A breastfeeding timer for each side, so you know which side is next. Bottles in ml or oz, formula or breast milk. A pumping log and a count of your milk stash. Sleep timer for naps and night sleep. Wet and dirty diapers in two taps. Forgot to log something at 3am? Add it later at the right time. A timer left running by mistake is caught before it is saved. Totals for the day, a timeline, and Patterns that describe what you logged. No scores. No streaks. Growth charts on the WHO Child Growth Standards, for weight, length and head circumference. Keep the first smile next to the 3am feeds. Twins and siblings each get their own log. SHARE IT PROPERLY Invite a partner to see and log everything. Invite a nanny or grandparent as a carer: they can log and see today, but not your history, growth records or private notes. The server enforces that, not just the screen. A handover summary shows what is running now and what happened last, ready to send as a message. YOUR DATA Your cycle and pregnancy are kept on your phone and never sent to Anka's servers. They are never shared with anyone in your family. Anka needs an account. Your baby's log backs up to it and works offline. I cannot read it, unless you open a support window from inside the app, which shuts by itself after seven days. Anka counts how many people use it and which screens open, never what you log. Export everything, or delete your account and all your data from inside the app. Sign in with Apple, Google or email. Dark mode for the night feeds. NOT MEDICAL ADVICE Anka is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat anything. Totals are only as complete as your logging, and growth charts are not a medical assessment. Talk to your midwife, doctor or health visitor about anything that worries you. aṅka is a Sanskrit word. It means a mark or a number, and also a lap, the place a child is held.
