Hanzi Pad is a focused Chinese handwriting workbook for iPad. Learn to write Chinese characters in the right stroke order, from the basic strokes through HSK 1 and HSK 2, with pinyin and Mandarin pronunciation for every character. Write with Apple Pencil or your finger.
Each character follows a simple four-step rhythm:
• Trace a clear guide
• Trace a lighter guide
• Copy from a small reference
• Write independently
Each character is spoken in Mandarin when it appears, using the iPad’s voice. Move at your own pace:
• Tap the stroke-order guide to replay it
• Tap the speaker to hear the character again
• Undo removes your last stroke, and the bin clears the page
• Use the arrows, or tap the character at the top, to choose another character
• Turn on shuffle to go through a pack in random order
• Open the sidebar to switch packs or learn the stroke order rules and stroke names
• With “Only Draw with Apple Pencil” turned on, a resting hand never leaves a mark
