GIF maker with a frame editor: • Record straight to an animated GIF: on the Recording tab, set Format to GIF under Video. • Edit GIFs frame by frame: delete, duplicate, reorder, change how long each frame shows, reverse it or play it forward and back. • Put text, arrows and hidden areas on just the frames you select. • See exactly how large the GIF will be, and make it fit 5, 10 or 15 MB with one click. • Open any GIF, or turn an edited video into GIF frames. • Sharper, smaller GIFs: zzScreen's own encoder stores only what changes. A pasted image can now also be saved as a PNG file.

Paste into the editor: • On the Edit tab, ⌘V opens the image on the clipboard in the editor. Copy puts your edit back on the clipboard. • A file you copied in the Finder opens the same way, as if you had dropped it on the window.

Text and screenshots, reworked: • Press T and start typing right away. A click before you type moves the text there. • Eleven fonts that come with your Mac, each shown on your text before you pick it. • Size from 50 to 900 percent, thin, regular or bold, and italic. • Outline instead of a background, with adjustable thickness. Video editor playback, reworked: • Loop playback: the new repeat button or ⌥⌘L plays your edit again and again. • At the end, the playhead returns to the start, and Play or Space starts over. • Playback runs smoothly across cuts and shows exactly what gets saved. • Clicking the timeline during playback keeps playing from there. • Drag the playhead or a clip edge to hear the sound at that spot.
