Mac

Turn an iPhone video into an H.264 MP4, or a HEIC photo into a JPG, right on your Mac. Free conversions have no count limit and no watermark. Press converts video and image files on your Mac. Drop in an iPhone video or a folder of HEIC photos, pick an output format, and Press saves the converted copy beside the original. The gap in macOS iPhone videos are usually recorded in HEVC, the codec older Windows PCs and many upload forms refuse. Finder's Encode Selected Video Files can re-encode to H.264, and QuickTime Player can export it, but both save a .mov file. For images, Finder's Convert Image action stops at JPEG, PNG, and HEIF, and neither Finder nor Preview can save WebP. Press writes real .mp4 files with H.264 video and AAC audio. A clip that a Windows laptop or a web form rejected as HEVC goes back out in the format they expect. What Press opens Video: MOV, MP4, M4V, and other files macOS can play, including HEVC and ProRes. Images: HEIC, HEIF, WebP, AVIF, JPEG XL, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, and BMP. Free Convert one file at a time to H.264 MP4 at its original size, 1080p, or 720p, or to JPEG, PNG, or HEIC. Free conversions have no count limit and no watermark. A WebP image you downloaded converts to PNG or JPEG for free. Press Pro A one-time purchase adds: • Batch conversion: drop many files or a whole folder and convert them in one run • Size presets that target Discord, email, and Slack upload limits, or a size you enter • 2160p and HEVC video output • WebP, AVIF, and TIFF image output • Downscaling images to a maximum width or height You pay once, and Pro does not expire. Where files go Each converted file is saved next to its source with "(Press)" added to the name, so an original is never overwritten. Press asks for access to a folder the first time it saves there. Privacy Every conversion runs on your Mac through Apple's AVFoundation and ImageIO frameworks, with libwebp for WebP. Your files never leave the Mac. Press works offline and collects no data. Requires macOS 15 Sequoia or later.

Size presets always deliver a file under their limit. When the budget is too small for the frame size, Press steps down to 1080p or 720p on its own. If a clip still cannot fit, the job says "Can't fit under" the limit and no file is written. The Email preset is 14.5 MB, down from 25 MB. Mail sends an attachment as base64 text, which adds about 37 percent, so a 14.5 MB file fits iCloud Mail's 20 MB message limit as well as the 25 MB in Gmail and Outlook.com. After you have converted a few files, Press asks whether you are enjoying it. Close the card and it stays hidden until the next version.
