Write in a native Mac editor. Open your Markdown and MDX originals, connect a local website, and see saved changes update automatically. MDX Studio is a native Mac workspace for Markdown and MDX. Open a file or connect a folder, then start writing. Your documents stay at their original locations, and changes save back to those files. WRITE IN A NATIVE EDITOR Choose Formatted mode for readable Markdown prose or Source for exact markup, metadata and MDX implementation. Both modes use the same plain text and native undo. Work beside a rendered preview or give the editor the window. Adjust text size and light or dark appearance. Use familiar Mac editing and formatting commands. SEE YOUR WEBSITE The built-in preview renders common Markdown offline. Connect your separately running local website to see its custom MDX components and styling. URL templates open the selected post. Saved edits refresh the preview automatically. If the website stops, editing and saving continue, and the preview reconnects when it returns. START WITH YOUR OWN FILES Choose a folder, open individual .md and .mdx files, or drop them into the native window. Browse posts in nested folders and find them by title or filename. Find my writing searches a location you choose and suggests writing folders. On supported Macs, Apple Intelligence reviews short excerpts on device to improve those suggestions. KEEP TRACK OF CHANGES Local version history compares saved drafts and can restore earlier text. Recovery drafts help preserve unsaved work. Clean changes made by another app appear while you work. A competing disk change preserves your edits and blocks overwrite. REVIEW YOUR WRITING Writing review lists stock phrases, assistant leftovers and other patterns using local rules. These checks run entirely on your Mac and do not determine who wrote a document. The separate, optional Unslop service can score prose or rewrite a selection after an explicit action. It needs your API key and may spend service credits. Returned revisions require review before applying. MADE FOR LOCAL WRITING No MDX Studio account is required. The app has no advertising or app analytics. Documents remain plain files for your publishing tools or separately running agent. Hand off writes a local record after saving. MDX Studio does not publish your writing. Files in cloud-synced folders follow your sync provider's behavior. Requires an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 13.5 or later. Individual documents can be up to 2 MB. Apple Intelligence discovery requires macOS 26 or later, a supported Mac, and Apple Intelligence enabled and available. Discovery also works without it. Custom MDX components require the writer's own local website renderer.
