Tune your oud to a tenth of a cent, quarter tones included. Four tuner styles, exact reference tones and every classic tuning, from Do bass to Iraqi high Fa.
Dozan (دوزان) is a precision tuner built for the oud and for Arabic music.
QUARTER-TONE ACCURATE
Dozan hears all 24 tones of the Arabic octave: Re half-flat, Mi half-flat, Si half-flat and the rest. It shows them in Do Re Mi, C D E or دو ري مي, with maqam names like Rast, Dukah, Sikah, Nawa and Husayni.
FOUR TUNER STYLES
• Needle: a classic analog meter
• Strobe: bands drift until you're exact
• LED: a bright segment bar you can read across a stage
• Ring: a dot that orbits to center
Every style shows frequency (0.01 Hz), cents (0.1) and an accuracy score, with a live trace.
MADE FOR THE OUD
• Auto-detects which course you pluck, or lock onto one
• Match Pair: tune the second string of a course to the exact pitch of the first
• Ticks off each course as it locks in, with a haptic tap
REFERENCE TONES
Play any quarter tone in any octave as a pure tone, a warm tone or a plucked oud. Hold it as a drone or pluck it. Shade it ±50 cents to fit your maqam's intonation.
TUNINGS AND COMBOS
Arabic tuning with a Do, Re, Fa–Fa, Si bemol or Sol bass, Iraqi (high Fa) and Turkish. Ear-check combos play two courses together (Do–Do, Fa–Fa, Si bemol–Si bemol) so you can hear the beating disappear.
YOUR PITCH
Set La from 415 to 466 Hz in 0.1 Hz steps. Tuner, tones and tunings all follow it.
