Soi: Know What You Eat
Nutrition labels, decoded
Only for iPhone

iPhone
Snap a packet or type a dish name and see the sodium, sugar and frying oil behind it — offline, in one second, with the research to back it up.
Soi reads a food the way a label should read: what is in it, how much of your day it uses up, and what happens if you eat it three times a week instead of once.
WORKS WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT, A KEY, OR A SIGNAL
94 common dishes and packaged products are built into the app, alongside an on-device photo recognizer. Point the camera at a packet of instant noodles or type "beef pho" and the analysis appears immediately — no sign-up, no subscription, no server.
WHAT YOU GET FOR EVERY FOOD
• Nutrition per serving with the share of an adult's daily limit — sodium, free sugars, saturated fat, trans fat, protein, fibre
• Ingredient by ingredient: what each one does to you, and how badly
• "How much is too much?" — the same dish at 1, 3, 7 and 14 times a week, with the consequence spelled out at each step
• Similar dishes scored side by side, so a swap is obvious
• Specific ways to eat the same thing better
CHECKED AGAINST REAL SOURCES, FREE
After the instant result, Soi quietly verifies the numbers against Open Food Facts product labels and the USDA food composition tables, then adds context from Wikipedia and review-level studies from PubMed. Sources are listed under the ingredients so you can read them yourself. This costs nothing and needs no account.
YOUR NUMBERS, YOUR PHONE
Add a health profile — age, height, weight, activity, goal, and conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes — and the app sets your personal daily targets (WHO and Dietary Guidelines figures; hypertension drops the sodium limit to 1,500 mg). The weekly read-out then measures what you actually logged against those targets, names the one thing that is too much, and shows the dishes you repeat most often. The profile never leaves the device.
OPTIONAL EXTRAS
• On-device AI (Qwen3-VL 2B, a one-time 2.3 GB download) describes photos the built-in recognizer is unsure about. Photos stay on the phone.
• Your own Anthropic API key enables a Claude web fact-check for unlisted dishes. Off by default.
ENGLISH AND VIETNAMESE
Every screen, including the analysis text, is written in both languages.
