Pick tracks from your Music library on the Mac, and write M3U files with relative paths for a DAP or an SD card.
This app is for you if:
1. You manage your own music files on your Mac with the Music app
2. You copy tracks to a portable audio player, such as on an SD card
3. You want playlists on the player, but exporting a playlist from Music gives absolute paths, and rewriting them as relative paths is tedious. You also forget which folder they should be relative to
4. You wish Music's playlists were more flexible (or you've wanted to write one in SQL)
WHAT IT DOES
1. Choose tracks by conditions
Three ways to build the conditions:
- Column Filter: pick from columns such as Genre and Artist
- Smart Conditions: list conditions (no nesting)
- SQL: write the WHERE clause yourself
SQL is handy for conditions like these:
- The album artist matches exactly
- The artist contains a name (to catch "feat." credits)
- But the title contains neither "Instrumental" nor "Karaoke"
Matching ignores case by default.
2. Write M3U files
- Each track is written as a path relative to the output folder
- Tested on the Walkman NW-A300 and NW-A50, with the files placed on the SD card like this:
MUSIC/Music/ArtistName1/AlbumName1/Title1.m4a
MUSIC/Music/ArtistName2/AlbumName2/Title2.m4a
MUSIC/Music/Playlist1.m3u8
- Other players haven't been tested. If you try one, whether it works or not, please let me know through the support page

PLEASE NOTE
This is not a music player. It only picks tracks and writes M3U files, and it does not play music.
It does not copy music to the output folder either. The only files it writes are M3U files.
