The Usual is a journal for the restaurants you love — and the ones you don't. Log where you went, what you ordered, and how it was, so the next time someone asks "what's good there?" you actually know.
LOG A VISIT IN SECONDS
Pick a restaurant, add what you ordered, and tap a star rating for each dish. Want more? Add the date, notes, prices, who ordered what, and even a restroom rating.
SCAN A RECEIPT
Point your camera at a receipt and The Usual reads the restaurant, the dishes, and their prices for you. It captures on its own as soon as the receipt is steady — no shutter button — and the whole thing runs on your device with Apple Intelligence.
SEE IT ON A MAP
Every restaurant you've logged appears on the map, marked by cuisine. Tap one to see your last visit and its rating, then open it for everything you've ordered there and directions in Apple Maps.
FIND IT AGAIN
Search by restaurant, by a dish you remember, or by rating — type "4.5 stars" to see only your best spots. The Home screen keeps your recent visits close and reminds you of highly rated places you haven't been back to in a while.
YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Everything you log is stored on your device and synced across your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud account. The developer never sees any of it.
Receipt scanning requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence. Everything else works on any iPhone or iPad running iOS 26.2 or later.

-Smarter receipt scanning. Scans check that the receipt adds up, fix prices that were misread, and correct the restaurant's name using nearby places and the receipt's web address. Dates print in different orders around the world, and they're now read correctly. When a scan saves to a restaurant you've already logged, the app tells you, so the same receipt doesn't get logged twice.
-Clearer location help. If location access is off, the app explains why it matters and takes you straight to Settings.
-A fresh coat of teal. The app's accent color now matches the logo.
