Control the peaks. Keep the character. CRUSH pairs magnetic compression with a VHS mode for softened highs, gentle tape movement and restrained hiss. CRUSH is a compressor with magnetic warmth and a second mode inspired by VHS tape audio. Three knobs shape the dynamics; a UHF/VHS switch changes the texture. Both modes keep compression at the heart of the sound. SQUEEZE Bring quieter details forward and keep peaks in check. At zero, magnetic colour stays active without compression. RESPONSE Shape the initial grip and recovery together. Move from more transient movement to a firmer catch, with a lingering recovery in the middle. LEVEL Trim the final output from -18 to +18 dB. Match your bypass level to hear the effect clearly. UHF / VHS UHF is CRUSH's magnetic compressor sound. VHS adds the limited bass and treble of normal VHS tape audio, rounded peaks, subtle transport movement and quiet hiss. The indicator glows green for UHF and red for VHS, and clears when bypassed. The bedside lamp reacts to gain reduction. ON ITS OWN OR IN YOUR HOST Play through the standalone app with an audio interface, or load the included AUv3 effect in a compatible host. New instances default to mono input and stereo output. Stereo input remains available, with linked compression to keep the image together; your host controls the active layout. MIDI CONTROL Control Squeeze, Response, Level, bypass and UHF/VHS mode with MIDI CC messages. The in-app guide lists the assignments. The standalone app starts with its input muted. Connect your instrument and audio interface, then choose LIVE. Use the corner LIVE/MUTED control to mute the input again. Tap the footswitch to compare with bypass. No account. No subscription.
