Pastelia: Drawing & Coloring

Oil pastel art & sketchbook

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Open the box, pick a stick: wax catches on the paper's grain, colors mix when you rub them with a finger, and scratching reveals the layer beneath. Pastelia doesn't fake oil pastels, it simulates them. Every stick lays down wax that catches on the grain of the paper and skips the hollows. Layer colors and rub them with your finger, and they really mix: yellow over blue turns green. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Coloring book: lots of pages ready to color, from bold, easy outlines to detailed adult designs: mandalas, botanicals, tiles and patterned animals. Some are free; the rest come in a one-time pack • Pick a stick from a box of 12 colors; draw lightly or press hard • Rub with your finger to blend colors on the paper • Scratch with the scraper to reveal the layer underneath • Magic papers: color lightly and a hidden picture appears; scratch the black off a scratch card to find a rainbow • White, cream or black paper in rough, normal or smooth grain • Watch and continue: watch a picture being drawn, then finish it with your own colors • Apple Pencil pressure and tilt: lay the pencil down to drag the side of the stick • Save your drawings to Photos or share them A BOX ON THE TABLE No clutter of buttons: just a box, a sheet of paper and a few sticks. Start drawing and everything steps aside so the paper fills the screen. The same box works for someone holding a pastel for the first time and for someone who has drawn for years. Works on iPad and iPhone, with Apple Pencil support.
