ReadUnlock turns reading aloud into screen time.
Choose the apps to lock with Apple's Screen Time. Your child opens a picture book and reads it out loud: the words light up as they're said, the page turns by itself, and reading earns minutes towards the apps you chose. When the minutes are used, the apps lock again, even if ReadUnlock is closed.

• Try one page: at the start of setup, read a real page aloud and watch the words light up.
• A second language: choose the language your child reads at home and one they're learning. Tapping a word shows its meaning in the home language.
• Reading friends who come alive: on Home and in the Den, Bob, Shif, Dan and Jaff breathe, fidget, do their own big move and can be picked up and played with. The reading screen stays calm.
• Optional reminders: a story-time reminder (worded as a bedtime story near bedtime) and a "Time's up" message when the minutes run out.
• "Read next" picks on Home, a guided first unlock, and a PIN-protected "count this page" for when listening misses a page your child really read.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Real picture books: 490 illustrated books in English, Arabic, French and Spanish, from Book Dash, StoryWeaver (Pratham Books), African Storybook and Global Storybooks, from first words to longer stories, each fully credited.
• A reading friend sits beside every page, cheers each page read and helps with a tricky word.
• Fair by design: a page counts when 85% of it is read aloud; re-reading is good practice but earns less; unused minutes are saved.
• Built for grown-ups: a PIN for every setting, a daily limit, a daily reading goal, tricky words to practice together, and protection against the app being deleted.
• Private: speech is recognized on the device. Nothing is recorded, nothing about your child leaves the device, and there's no account to make.
FREE AND PLUS
Free: the lock, the minutes, the free books in your child's home language, and three free books to try in a second language.
ReadUnlock Plus adds every book in both languages, up to four readers on one device, the Wardrobe and your friend growing as your child reads, questions after each story, a weekly report and schedules (weekend limits and bedtime).
